Harvesting Resource Allocation in Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks
Considering an energy harvesting sensor network, the overall probability of event loss is derived. Based on this result, a variety of harvesting resource allocation schemes (sizing the energy storages and the harvesting devices, under a total cost constraint) are provided. Their performances are verified and compared through simulations.

State = R≥0 ×R≥0 For an abstract state (d, a), we call dist(d, a) = d+ a the energy-adjusted distance. The computational state comprises: • A simple distance d ∈ R≥0 to the base station, like the simple distance of an abstract state. • An energy level e ∈ Energy. • An energy-faithful adjustment f ∈ R≥0 capturing energy deficiencies along the route to the base station. • A table nt containing en...
متن کاملMaximal Utility Rate Allocation for Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks
There is currently tremendous interest in deploying energyharvesting wireless sensor networks. Engineering such systems requires striking a careful balance between sensing performance and energy management. Our work addresses this problem through the design and analysis of a harvestingaware utility-based sensing rate allocation algorithm. Based on a network utility formulation, we show that our...
متن کاملEnergy Efficient and QoS-Aware Tasks Allocation for Sensor Networks
Collaborative processing among sensors to fulfill given tasks is a promising solution to save significant energy in resource-limited wireless sensor networks (WSN). Quality-of-Service (QoS) such as lifetime and latency is largely affected by how tasks are mapped to sensors in network. Tasks allocation is a well-defined problem in the area of high performance computing and has been extensively s...
متن کاملStability-Aware Geographic Routing in Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks
A new generation of wireless sensor networks that harvest energy from environmental sources such as solar, vibration, and thermoelectric to power sensor nodes is emerging to solve the problem of energy limitation. Based on the photo-voltaic model, this research proposes a stability-aware geographic routing for reliable data transmissions in energy-harvesting wireless sensor networks (EH-WSNs) t...
